There used to be a regular column in Cosmo magazine called Why Don’t You with a list of fun, indulgent things you could do to squeeze a little more happy out of your day. Keeping that in mind I recently came across this hilarious to do list that cracked me up. So of course I had to share it with you…

All those are fun. But what about bettering yourself? I think about this constantly. Now that my time is more flexible I want to maximize my opportunities. So I started a new project with a young go-getter earlier this year who was determined to help me monetize my travel research and mapping abilities. Although I always thought it would be great to cash in on my extensive research about Paris, I’ve never had the urge to turn my data into a business. Until now. And she helped me learn how to do it. So I know you’ve heard about it already, but I’m so happy it’s out there in the universe as a real thing. And if you haven’t heard about it… it’s a subscription-based travel planning and map tool for navigating Paris and can be found here… https://paris.jenslittleblackbook.com/

I think moving forward in life is so critical for growth and development. So this one line below hit me hard! And it applies to me in so many ways. The best thing you can do for yourself sometimes is to get out of your own way and let progress begin. What do you think?

On a lighter note, let’s turn our attention to laundry. I know people who absolutely detest doing laundry. And for the life of me I can’t figure out why. In no particular order you throw your clothes into a machine that does ALL of the cleaning. You do whatever you want during the wash cycle. Anything! You then chuck those wet items into a dryer and poof! All ya gotta do is fold it. Laundry done. I used to separate colors from whites and even towels from clothes. But I gotta tell ya, there ain’t no difference anymore. It all goes in dirty and comes out spiffy clean. I mix and my sheets get along just fine with my shirts, although sometimes there appears to be a struggle and the sheets attempt to kidnap some of the clothes! But this next line is just such a funny job description that I had to share…

Then there are those of us who are not interested in moving forward or frankly any direction at all! I just love the description of where to take a nap. It sounds so cozy and comfy. Is there room for moi??

Comfort is so important to me on an everyday basis. I love a fluffy towel after a hot shower. I am so grateful to put on clean clothes each day (or at least the days I shower!). And I definitely indulge in a sweet treat every day that I draw breath. I’m not so sure about the swans below but I can relate to the sentiment…

Now this character must have gotten each and every job that she interviewed for. This is pure genius at work. For anyone job searching, why don’t you…

Next a controversal topic. Ranch dressing. Some could glop that thick, white gamechanger onto everything and some find the idea of it revolting. I personally love a good herby ranch on salads, as a dip for fries, and on the crust of pizza. I do not put that shit on everything. So I could not stop laughing at the hoity toidy restaruant that refused to admit that they even had ranch. My advice to them is to just admit it! The truth would set them free. See for yourself…

And if you’ve had a hard day, weekend or month, here is a great why don’t you from a very thirsty friend indeed.

And in closing I think it’s so important to…
