For the past few years, Michael and I have been spending a monthlong workcation in Paris. And because of the time difference, we spent every day out of the flat exploring, tasting, snapping pics, visiting cultural institutions, memorizing the metro system and shopping up a storm before our workday began. And you know me; I was constantly doing research and taking copious notes. Last year we were able to visit over 300 locations in 30 days. (I know. I’m still exhausted.) And each year that we’d visit, I’d do all the legwork and prepare custom tours for each day of our trip. I had to cross reference opening times and days the major landmarks and museums were closed with tickets and reservations against weather events, crowd size, and competing activities. I loved the deep dive but the logistics always kicked my butt. It took me months to plan each action-packed 30-day trip.

So last fall when Michael’s younger daughter Anna suggested that I create an interactive map based on all my comprehensive Paris research, detailed notes, growing database, and pithy writeups, I jumped at the chance to finally share all of my intel with the general public. And so Premier Paris Picks started to take shape.
