In the cozy town of Sag Harbor on Eastern Long Island in an area known as the Hamptons or Out East to regular New Yorkers, there is a new diner named Babe’s. And man is she a looker! With only eight counter stools, it’s quite possibly the hardest seat to snag this summer. Open every day for breakfast and lunch except Tuesdays, Babe’s is serving some of the best diner food ever, and with a sense of humor– minus the seating for eight of course which is seriously limiting to hungry patrons and no joking matter.

Take their breakfast options. They actually advertise a Baconeggandcheese on a roll! Ha. And she’s a beaut. Soft scrambled eggs, crispy bacon piled so high and melty American cheese all on a toasty poppy seed Kaiser roll. Yes, please.

Their Pancakes come three to an order with a major drizzle of great maple syrup, a huge butter ball and a dollop of whipped cream. The flavors are blueberry, chocolate chip or banana. And they are thick, fluffy and incredible! The chips on the chocolate are so rich and wow, and that extra sprinkle of sweet powdered sugar hits all the right notes. Regardless of what you get, you’ll definitely want “table pancakes.” If you know, you know.

At lunchtime you’ll be back to have the Vodka Parm Sando with housemade chicken cutlet, fresh mozz and spicy vodka sauce, the Challah BLT loaded with bacon and sun ripe tomatoes, their Wagyu Hot Dog with authentic Wagyu Beef, mustard and relish and the Cheeseburger with special sauce, iceberg and tomato on a sesame bun. The great sides include crispy fries, to die for onion rings, waffle fries and hashbrowns. And to wash it down? How about a Homemade Root Beer Float or a Peach Iced Tea? Let’s live a little and get both, yeah??

Babe’s considers herself a finer diner and I couldn’t agree more. If there was ever a time for a catcall it’s now. Hey, babe. How you doin’?
