Usually when someone mentions a triple threat they’re talking about a talented individual who can sing, dance, and act. (I am not one of those people.) In the case of River House at Odette’s, a spectacular new hotel in New Hope, Pennsylvania, this is more like a hat trick of breakfast, lunch, and dinner all under one roof. (Now here is where I shine.) If you’re one of those folks to whom aesthetics matters, the white-washed wood grain wallpaper, colorful framed Picasso reprints, series of coordinated grey and white patterned tiles, and the complementary grey swirling wallpaper might just tickle your fancy in your freshly upgraded suite. (Booking dot yeah!!)

Boasting stylish low chairs with shapely reading lamps, and sculptural side tables, heavy plank floors and ginormous flat screens TVs, the room is so posh that you might not even consider a gander at the picturesque Delaware River right below your window… but make some time, for soon you’re off to enjoy a fab lunch on the first floor. (Yes, in this case lunch is first!)

Odette’s, the signature restaurant on the main level, is housed in a brightly lit and open but cozy space overlooking the water. Sea blue velvet banquettes and comfy chairs amongst bubbly light fixtures invite you to partake of a menu so delicious that you cannot help but choose well. The Lobster Roll is served on toasty bun with killer truffle fries, and the indulgent Crab Cake Sandwich has nary a breadcrumb to be found in the luscious patty topped by a spicy remoulade sauce. The deliciously dressed Romaine Heart Caesar has chunky seasoned focaccia croutons, shaved parmesan, and juicy cherry tomatoes—and feel free to add grilled chicken. The Short Rib French Dip graces a hoagie bun, with melted provolone, delicate broccoli rabe, horseradish cream, and au jus. The portions are generous so save room for dessert! I visited with Michael to celebrate our anniversary so we went crazy with the obscene Triple Chocolate Cake, fudgy chocolate ganache, sweet whipped cream, pomegranate drizzle, and mini curls of chocolate shavings. To die!

After a walk about town and a lovely nap, the roomy waterfall shower with scented bath products by (MALIN + GOETZ) (especially the rum body wash) is just the pick me up you need to prepare you for your evening out.

Book a luxurious dinner at ROOF on the top level of the hotel. With side-by-side seating (so romantic!) and a grand water view, fun cocktails will kick off your special night. My fave was the Lady Possessed—Sparkling Brut Crémant, Limoncello, fresh raspberry, lime, and ginger beer. So light and refreshing with just the right tang. Michael enjoyed the popular Rolling River—Hendrick’s Gin, cucumber, jalapeno, thyme, honey syrup, and lemon.

For our meal, we began with the Tuna Crudo—super slim slices of sushi grade tuna with black garlic aioli, avocado mousse, sweet radish slivers, and a sweet soy glaze, and shared the seasonal Corn Fritters served atop corn purée and dappled with cheddar popcorn. Amazing! For the entrée, I loved the fancy Filet Mignon with crispy potato wedges dazzled with sea salt, and a carrot medley in savory butter and herbs and Michael relished the Scallops Oscar with jumbo lump crab, chipotle beet purée, golden beets, horseradish, and crispy shallots. We had not a tiny space left for dessert but shared the tangy Meyer Lemon Bar anyway—it’s a lemon tart with a homemade shortbread bottom, zesty lemon curd, toasted meringue, and milk crumb. It was sensational!

After a restful night in the opulent bedroom adorned with Frette linens and a lux comforter, we splurged on room service prior to our late checkout. Michael opted for the sublime Benedict Tartine with a gently poached egg, spinach, and smoked salmon. I went old school with two sunny eggs, bacon, and roasted purple potatoes. It was the perfect morning to cap off our special stay.

Between the exemplary service, the scrumptious food, and the gorgeous visual displays in absolutely every part of the hotel and beyond (yep, another hat trick), our stay at River House at Odette’s is one we will never forget.
If you decide to visit, get ready to soak up the suite life!
