SnackTime With Jen— Knot It, July 10th

In this new midtown miracle, Italian food is elevated to a whole ‘nuther level. You must begin with the Hot Knots bathed in an Italian chili crisp. Sold by the piece, these puffy wonders are buttery, garlicky, fluffy, crispy perfection, and a tad spicy with a toasty outside crunch and a soft, pillowy inside. Covered in salty parm cheese, you’ll see why there are a staple starter at every single table. Your first bite will send you spiraling and your second bite will capture your heart. But wait… there’s more.

The Snap Pea Salad is a modest bowl of tendrils and grana drizzled with a spritz of balsamico bianco. It’s so light and yet so flavorful and the perfect refresher after those deliriously good Knots.

For your main course, pasta is the star here and the Fusilli Giganti with basil pesto and stracciatella dappled with toasted pine nuts was a big winner. The textures were magnificent and the pesto was herby and strong.

If you know me, you know that dessert is a must and I couldn’t wait to dive spoon first into their signature Strawberry Fantasia. This giant martini glass of lusciousness housed a swirly strawberry softserve tower surrounded by fresh strawbs, cookie crumbles and cloud like whipped cream peaks. It was the perfect sweet treat for a hot summer day.

Bar Primi is centrally located near Penn Station in Midtown West. I’ve already booked my next lunch reservation there and can’t wait to dive back into their delectable standouts. Jen’s Little Black Book just loves a menu where each incredible course is something to talk about. Bar Primi is Knot like the other wanna be Italians… Capisce?
