Welcome to my newest feature, SnackTime With Jen. This midweek morsel is a small taste of something fun. Topics range from food (of course) to fashion, amusing little discoveries both locally and abroad, and a variety of interesting intel too tempting not to share. So let’s get snacking…

I’ve been dreaming about the enormous and fabulous spread at Laser Wolf in Philly for quite some time. And I was Laser Focused on getting a reservation just as soon as the new block of seats opened. So I was beyond thrilled to actually score a table for a business dinner with three fabulous industry gals. I heard that the offerings were all amazing– and c’mon, how could so many of them be that good?? I just had to taste test them for myself and of course bring a crew for second, third, and fourth opinions.

Laser Wolf is known for their Salatim with is Hummus with Fresh Pita and a variety of spreads that come with every dish. And when I say spreads I mean a table-covering array of deliciousness. We’re talkin’ savory Babaganoush, Turkish Celery Root, sliced fresh Cucumbers with Harissa, a wonderful Butternut Squash Chershi, sweet Napa Cabbage with Pickled Raisins and Amba, Cranberry Beans with Spicy Matbucha, bright Broccoli with Chickpeas and more Harissa, sour Israeli Pickles with spicy Shipka Peppers, smooth Sweet Potato Muhammara, and a pile of insanely tasty Moroccan Carrots. The pictures don’t even do the plates justice!

After this tastingfest of those fluffy, warm pitas and trying every terrific spread, crunch, and dipping option, we each selected an offering from the grill in the categories of meat, veggie, or fish as the main course. I was torn between the Eggplant, Chicken Shishlik, and Crispy Salmon and ended up selecting the Chicken which was perfectly grilled, tender and smokey. At our table two of us had Chicken and two ordered the Romanian Beef Kebab. And we threw in an order of the absolutely crispy and divine French Fries with Tahina ketchup. Everything was beyond!

Dessert was not to be missed and even included in our meal. The choices were Brown Sugar Soft Serve with Sicilian Pistachio Rice Crunch and Sour Cherry or Lime-Coconut Sorbet with Toasted Coconut-Graham Cracker Crumble. Wow. Our foursome all selected the Brown Sugar Soft Serve and we were all blown away by the creamy texture and supremely nutty topper. What a way to end a spectacular meal.

Laser Wolf serves an inviting spread where friends, family, and colleagues can gather and enjoy a huge variety of incredible flavors. We had a great time and thoroughly enjoyed each and every bite. I might have started the meal hungry like the wolf but ended up beyond full from the exceptional food and hilarious conversation. If you haven’t yet experienced Laser Wolf, get Laser Focused and add this scrumptious spot to your must-try list.
