SnackTime With Jen— See’s The Day, September 27th

Welcome to my newest feature, SnackTime With Jen. This midweek morsel is a small taste of something fun. Topics range from food (of course) to fashion, amusing little discoveries both locally and abroad, and a variety of interesting intel too tempting not to share. So let’s get snacking…

If you’re a west coaster, you’re probably very fond of See’s Candies as they have plenty of shops west of the Mississippi and especially all over California. But here on the east coast, See’s has but one tiny location and thank goodness it’s in NYC. They are known for all things chocolate, but they are particularly famous for a chewy layered candy called a Dark Scotchmallow and you’ll be glad you made the trek to Greenwich Village just to taste one. See’s starts with a thick layer of caramel on the bottom topped by a generous layer of honey marshmallow, and then covers the delicious duo in rich, dark chocolate. The mallow part is springy and sweet and the caramel has a perfectly smooth pull. I’m sure you can polish off one of these in two bites, so stock up properly to satisfy your sweet tooth.

Those of you who know me well know that I’m not a big drinker… so when I ask for a “Scotch” I’m probably talking about one of these babies instead of a traditional cocktail. Jen’s Little Black Book definitely finds the Dark Scotchmallows at See’s Book-Worthy, especially as the main attraction for my kind of happy hour. So Carpe Candy and enjoy!

I’m dishing it out each week in my newest feature, SnackTime With Jen cause everyone I know just loooves a little snack. Especially me.
