Welcome to my newest feature, SnackTime With Jen. Shorter than my long format storytelling blog, this midweek morsel is a small taste of something fun. Topics range from food (of course) to fashion, amusing little discoveries both locally and abroad, and a variety of interesting intel too tempting not to share. So let’s get snacking…

We all know Magnolia Bakery is famous for their homemade Banana Pudding. But did you know they have been rolling out special pudding flavors each month? No one told you either? Jeez. I’ll catch you up. For June it’s Strawberry Shortcake Pudding and oh my Lord and Taylor. Made with mounds of swirly vanilla pudding, soft vanilla wafers, and oven-roasted strawberries, this tasty treat mimics strawberry shortcake exactly. The pudding is super creamy and light and the strawberries are slightly chewy with cakey ribbons of wafer throughout. The pudding sizes are “Barely Scratches The Itch” which they refer to as a small, “Now Yer Talkin” which is considered a medium, and the “We Encourage You To Share If You Eat This In Public So You Don’t Make A Spectacle Of Yourself, Sweetie… But It’s Just A Suggestion And You Don’t Have To Give Into Pudding Peer Pressure” which as you guessed is their version of a large.

Apparently this dessert really is whipped & swirled around the world so get yourself to the nearest outpost and sink your spoon into Magnolia Bakery’s amazing Strawberry Shortcake Pudding before the end of June. This flavor might be a limited edition, but it will remain a Jen’s Little Black Book favorite well beyond its menu expiration date.
