Welcome to the debut of my new feature, SnackTime With Jen. Shorter than my long format storytelling blog that publishes on Monday, this midweek morsel will be a small taste of something fun. Topics will range from food (of course) to fashion and amusing little discoveries both locally and abroad. Think product reviews, restaurant recommendations, and a variety of interesting intel you’ll be tempted to share. So let’s get snacking…

I’m afraid I’ll create a literal riot by leaking this news to you but I’m a sharer so here goes. Uber don’t walk to the newest ice cream installation from the Morgenstern’s family of frozen treats. Their second shop, located in their OG storefront at 2 Rivington Street in NYC is called Bananas, and it totally is. This is by far the most delicious soft serve I have ever tasted in my life. (Sorry DeLaCrem in Barcelona! I promise you’re a close second.) They have a limited number of flavors each day but all of them sound fab. During my first visit I tried side by side Super Choc and Salted Peanut Butter combo and I was completely blown away by both. To top it off, all the ice cream here is dairy free. (How they do it is a total mystery.) Their soft serve is creamy, dreamy, and light, not too sweet, super cold, and the perfect remedy on a hot summer day. I went absolutely ape sh*t for Bananas and you will, too! So is Bananas Jen’s Little Black Book-Worthy? You bet your crunchy toppings it is.

I’m dishing it out each week in my newest feature, SnackTime With Jen cause everyone I know just loooves a little snack. Especially me.
