New Yorkers Speak, March 11th

New York City is certainly not for everyone (and I can understand why), but it’s definitely for me. Mostly because I love the diversity, the commentary of our outspoken and hilarious residents, and of course the food. So did you know that Ralph Lauren has a vintage green coffee truck that parks near Rockefeller Plaza as well as a spot uptown near his 72nd and Madison Avenue retail mansion and a third in the Flatiron District. (Are there more??) The line to get his coffee at each location is completely ridiculous, even by New York standards. Recently I saw a post by someone equally incredulous about the lines and I felt compelled to share the comments because they are epic…

Tell it like it is Jitsudog wrote…

“Nothing in NYC is worth the line. Been here for 30+ years after growing up on LI. I see a line I get the same thing on the next corner. Probably just as good and cheaper.”

Kensington11 wrote, “White people will stand in endless lines for anything!” Hilarious comment and possibly true, Kenny. Kovachyo wrote, “People don’t care about the coffee. They just wanna post the cup to their social media.”

Luxury brand officianado Wessonsmith proclaimed,

“I only drink Gucci.”

RL expert Sbatagliaofficial commented, “This isn’t even the Purple Label brew.” Ha! And Joeysherrock wrote, “It’s just such a cute bus. If they were doing acid and singing songs together I would probably still be lining up.” Crazy but funny! Whether you drink coffee or not or you’re a fan of Ralphie’s brand or not, people are talking and I love being a fly on the wall for the giggle inducing banter. And speaking of laughing, take a look see at what this New Yorker did…

I’m pretty sure this isn’t NYC but can you imagine going shopping and seeing this in someone’s cart? Please tell me this wasn’t taken at Hudson Yards during the Christmas holidays? Please??

People say that New Yorkers have an attitude. But I don’t think that’s always a bad thing. In fact, we bond at the office like no other city…

And New Yorkers are information junkies. We live in a super condensed vertical village and we like to know what’s going on in our neighborhood, on our side of Central Park, and especially what’s happening with our deliveries and our mail…

Although New Yorkers have our quirks, in many ways we are just like every other urban geography. We are all looking to be successful and happy. And those goals tend to be universal.

So whether you wait on the line at Ralph’s for coffee today or mistake a hipster for your likeness, never forget that New York City is the home to a great population of opinionated folks just waiting for their chance to share their thoughts with you. Especially me!
