Remember this childhood choosing game some of us played as youngsters to decide who goes first, or who empties the dishwasher, or who tells Mom that one of us broke the vase from an indoor game of catch we weren’t supposed to be having in the first place? The rocks we focus on now should involve gorgeous bathroom tile or obscenely sparkling diamonds.

The paper we favor should be for greeting cards to tell those we care about that we love them or for colorful boarding passes ready to transport us to magical destinations.

And the scissors we use should shred documents that no longer have relevance in our lives as we move past old relationships and make way for new partnerships. Or snip us right into a fab new haircut.
