Family Ties, June 20th

My Dad is the grammar expert and the guy who can do serious math in his head. He taught me how to drive in snowy conditions and how to balance my checkbook. Growing up he was the omelet maker, pancake flipper, and a self-proclaimed coin-dispensing chauffeur. He made sure we got where we were going and always had a few nickels in our pocket when we got there. He has always been big on treating everyone, especially family for the holidays. He has a tremendously generous spirit and has spent a great deal of time doing charity work, volunteering, and on various boards.

He’s a fabulous chopper, dicer, and slicer of veggies and a great BBQ griller. His banana cakes are a famous Florida staple.

He’s a sun worshipper, a social butterfly, and the mayor of the beach club. But his magic tricks were always a bit questionable (like the coin behind the ear gag), and his Scrabble scheming was certainly suspect! (He loved to use Latin root words to get rid of difficult tiles. But his big smile gave him away. Busted at the game board, Dad!)

To the coupon clipper, the efficiency expert, and the one who doles out unconditional support– today I celebrate the king of my favorite french fries, my own personal Fry Daddy! Happy Father’s Day, Dad! Enjoy your day. I love you. ❤️ And to all the Dads out there reading this (three of you max, right??) and all Dads everywhere, have a great day but please… no more cheating at Scrabble! (We’re tired of letting you win. 😊)

  1. That is so beautiful, sweet and heartfelt.
Your Dad is a blessed man to have you as a daughter.
I am certain you have enriched his life in a thousand ways being his daughter.
May you both continue to be blessed with the love and respect you have for one another.
